Refund policy

At Yana Lamar Gallery, we work with antique and vintage objects that carry not only material, but also historical value.

Many of these pieces are delicate, unique, and irreplaceable.

For this reason, we kindly ask all clients to carefully review all photographs, descriptions, dimensions, and condition details before placing an order.

We encourage thoughtful purchasing, as we aim to minimize repeated shipping.

Each additional transit increases the risk of damage to an antique object.

Before Placing an Order

Before completing your purchase, please:

  • carefully review all photographs;

  • read the full description, including age-related wear, restorations, and condition notes;

  • contact us with any questions prior to purchase.

By placing an order, the buyer confirms that they have reviewed and accepted the condition and description of the item.

Condition Acknowledgment

The buyer acknowledges that antique items may have hidden or non-obvious age-related characteristics

that may not be fully visible in photographs.

Such characteristics are a natural part of the item’s age and history

and are not considered defects or grounds for return.

Item Description Standard

Claims regarding “item not as described” will only be considered

in the case of material differences from the stated description.

Such claims cannot be based on subjective expectations,

minor wear, or natural aging of the item.

General Policy

All sales at Yana Lamar Gallery are final.

All items are sold “as is”, without any warranties or guarantees.

The seller’s liability, in any case, shall not exceed the purchase price of the item.

Returns are not accepted for the following reasons:

  • change of mind after purchase;

  • personal expectations not aligning with the item;

  • natural age-related characteristics visible in photos or described;

  • failure to review the listing details prior to purchase.

Shipping Insurance

We strongly recommend purchasing shipping insurance, especially for fragile and antique items.

The decision to purchase insurance is made by the buyer at checkout.

No matter how carefully an item is packed, the shipping process involves factors beyond the seller’s control, including the actions of the shipping carrier, sorting facilities, and other third parties.

If insurance is declined, the buyer assumes full responsibility for any loss or damage that may occur during transit.

The seller is not responsible for the actions of the shipping carrier

and does not issue refunds for lost or damaged items.

If the shipment is insured,

compensation is provided in the form of an insurance payout from the shipping carrier

or the selected insurance provider, in accordance with their policies and procedures.

Returns

Returns are accepted only in the case of a seller error

(if an incorrect item was shipped).

In such cases, the buyer must contact us within 48 hours of delivery and provide:

  • order number;

  • clear photos of the received item;

  • photos of the packaging and box;

  • a brief explanation of the issue.

Return Conditions

If a return is approved due to a seller error:

  • return shipping is covered by the seller;

  • the return shipment must be fully insured;

  • a reliable and trackable shipping method must be used;

  • packaging must comply with the requirements outlined in the “Packaging & Protection” section;

  • the packing process must be documented step-by-step via photos or video.

Return shipping costs are reimbursed together with the refund for the item after the returned item has been received and inspected.

These requirements are in place to ensure transparency

and to preserve the integrity of antique items during return transit.

Inspection & Refunds

Refunds are issued only after the returned item has been received and carefully inspected.

If the returned item:

  • is damaged;

  • was improperly packed;

  • is missing parts or components;

  • differs in condition from how it was originally sent,

the seller reserves the right to:

  • refuse the refund;

  • issue a partial refund to account for restoration or repair.

If the item has sustained damage that cannot be restored without compromising its quality or historical value,

a full refund will not be issued

Refunds Initiated by the Seller

A refund may be issued

in the event of order cancellation initiated by the seller prior to shipment.

In such cases, the buyer will receive a full refund using the original payment method.

Returned Shipments Due to Incorrect Address

If a shipment is returned to the seller due to an incorrectly provided shipping address by the buyer,

a refund may be issued minus all incurred shipping costs.

The buyer is responsible for providing accurate and complete shipping information.

Original shipping costs and return shipping charges are non-refundable

and will be deducted from the total refund amount.

Upon request, the item may be reshipped

provided that the buyer covers the full cost of re-shipping

and confirms the corrected shipping address.

Additional Notes

Our goal is not to restrict the buyer,

but to preserve the integrity of each antique object.

We aim to protect every piece from unnecessary shipping and careless handling,

especially in cases where the purchase decision was not final.
