Antique German Simon & Halbig 1009 DEP Bisque Doll, 16.5 Inches

This elegant antique German doll by Simon & Halbig, mold 1009 DEP, dates to the early 20th century and stands approximately 16.5 inches / 42 cm tall.

She has a beautifully modeled bisque head with a delicate complexion, softly blushed cheeks, finely painted facial details, and expressive blue glass eyes. Her open mouth reveals small teeth, while her pierced ears are adorned with charming earrings featuring blue drops.

The back of the head bears the factory marking:

S & H 1009
DEP

She is set on a fully jointed composition body that retains good structural integrity and mobility. The body shows age-related rubbing, scratches, and wear to the painted surface, all consistent with the age of an authentic antique doll.

She is presented in a beautifully coordinated light-colored ensemble with delicate lace trim, a wide satin ribbon, and a decorative headpiece. Her look is completed with a wig and a small textile rabbit included as an accessory.

Condition

The bisque head is in overall very good condition, with no visible chips, losses, or open structural damage.

During a careful light inspection, a small area of uneven translucency was observed behind one ear. It is faintly visible when illuminated from one direction but does not transmit light from the opposite side. For this reason, the area cannot be conclusively identified as either a crack or a hairline.

No open separation, displacement, or clearly visible disruption of the exterior bisque surface can be seen. The area is shown in detail in the photographs so that the buyer may review it carefully.

The composition body remains intact and suitable for display, with age-related rubbing and wear to the painted finish.

About the Creator / Gallery

Meet Yana Lamar

I am Yana Lamar, a collector and restorer who turned a late‑found curiosity for dolls into a carefully curated gallery of antique characters.

I seek dolls that carry quiet stories — France, German, Japan, American - bisque girls, shy companions from attics and trunks — and give them a second life with gentle restoration instead of perfection.

In this online boutique you will not find mass‑market pieces, only a small rotating collection chosen for their personality, history, and the feeling they bring into a room.
