This is an antique German doll from the early 20th century by Simon & Halbig, mold 1009 DEP, one of the most recognized and sought-after classic models. It is admired for its balanced proportions and refined, lifelike expression.
She stands at an impressive 28 inches (approx. 71 cm), making her a striking large cabinet doll with a strong visual presence — a piece that naturally draws attention and becomes a focal point in a collection or interior.
The bisque head is of high quality, featuring finely detailed hand-painted characteristics. Her bright blue glass sleep eyes function properly, giving her a vivid and engaging expression. The ears are pierced, a characteristic detail of the period that enhances her authenticity.
The bisque head is in excellent condition, free of cracks or hairlines. There are only minor, superficial flakes to the paint along the wig line, not affecting the bisque itself, as well as light traces of adhesive from previous wig attachment along the rim.
She is fitted with a wig made of natural hair, carefully styled and harmonious with her overall appearance.
The composition body shows age-related wear and has been previously restored, including repainting. The stringing is good, allowing her to hold a stable and confident pose.
She is dressed in a thoughtfully styled outfit that enhances her gentle expression and overall presence. Soft tones, delicate fabrics, and coordinated details create a cohesive and elegant presentation, while the small companion toy adds a warm and charming narrative element.
