A charming vintage Steiff teddy bear, model 0202/51, made in Germany circa 1950s–1960s — a classic example of the iconic German teddy bears produced during the golden era of mid-century Steiff craftsmanship.
Measuring approximately 20 inches (51 cm), this bear has an impressive presence and beautifully balanced proportions, making him equally suitable for advanced collections and refined interior display.
The bear retains his original yellow Steiff ear tag marked Made in Germany, along with a metal ear button featuring the delicate “Steiff” script characteristic of vintage bears from this period and confirming authenticity. The original model number 0202/51 remains present on the tag.
Crafted in traditional mohair plush, the bear features fully jointed limbs and head, is firmly stuffed, and retains the satisfying weight and structure associated with quality vintage Steiff production.
The mohair remains in very good vintage condition with attractive overall preservation. Paw pads, facial features, and joint mobility are all well retained.
