This beautiful antique Heinrich Handwerck doll is a fine example of the exceptional craftsmanship that made German dollmakers world-renowned at the turn of the twentieth century. Measuring 22 inches (approximately 56 cm), she has an elegant presence, graceful proportions, and a wonderfully expressive face that will make her a distinguished addition to any serious antique doll collection.

The head is crafted from high-quality bisque porcelain and features finely hand-painted facial details. She has beautiful fixed blue glass eyes, original to the doll’s construction, along with delicately blushed cheeks and an open mouth with teeth, creating the gentle expression so characteristic of early Heinrich Handwerck dolls.

The bisque head is in excellent antique condition, free of cracks, chips, or restorations. There are traces of previous wig attachment along the wig line, a common characteristic found on many antique dolls that does not affect the condition or integrity of the bisque. She wears a beautiful natural mohair wig that complements her elegant appearance.

The doll is mounted on her original German jointed wood and composition body, which remains structurally sound and complete. The body shows minor paint wear and age-related surface marks, consistent with its age, but has no structural damage. The stringing is good, allowing the doll to stand securely and display beautifully.

She is dressed in a lovely custom-made dress, created especially for her, and is accompanied by antique undergarments and an elegant vintage hat that perfectly complement her timeless appearance.

Heinrich Handwerck dolls are highly regarded for their expressive faces, beautifully modeled bisque, and exceptional quality. This example combines an excellent bisque head, an original body, and an elegant presentation, making it a wonderful addition for both experienced collectors and admirers of fine European antiques.

Where Every Doll Carries a Story

About the Creator / Gallery

Meet Yana Lamar

I am Yana Lamar, a collector and restorer who turned a late‑found curiosity for dolls into a carefully curated gallery of antique characters.

I seek dolls that carry quiet stories — France, German, Japan, American - bisque girls, shy companions from attics and trunks — and give them a second life with gentle restoration instead of perfection.

In this online boutique you will not find mass‑market pieces, only a small rotating collection chosen for their personality, history, and the feeling they bring into a room.
