This charming antique Kewpie was made in Germany from the celebrated design created by American artist Rose O’Neill. Dating to approximately 1912–1915, it represents the early period of Kewpie production.
The doll is entirely made of bisque. The head, torso, and joined legs are molded as one piece, while the arms are movable and loop-jointed. It displays all the distinctive features of the classic Kewpie: large side-glancing eyes, a delicate mischievous smile, softly blushed cheeks, a small topknot, and miniature wings on the back.
The original heart-shaped paper label remains attached to the chest. Although considerably worn with age, its survival is an important collectible detail. The underside of the feet bears the impressed © O’Neill signature, confirming the licensed Rose O’Neill design.
The doll retains its expressive original facial painting, both movable arms, and all fingers. Its compact size makes it an appealing addition to an antique doll cabinet, a miniature collection, or an early 20th-century display.

Good antique condition with expected signs of age.
There is a small chip at the top of the head and a very fine, barely noticeable hairline between the wings. The blue paint on the wings shows partial loss. The original heart-shaped paper label is significantly worn but remains in place. Minor surface soiling and age-related wear are present.
