Antique Germany doll Heinrich Handwerck 99 bisque head
This is a large antique German doll from the early 20th century by Heinrich Handwerck, mold 99 DEP, one of the most recognized and well-loved models among collectors for its soft and lifelike expression.
The doll dates to circa 1900–1908, a period of high-quality German doll production and refined craftsmanship.
She stands at approximately 28 inches, giving her a strong visual presence and making her an impressive display piece for both collections and interiors.
The bisque head is of high quality, with finely hand-painted features. The bisque is in excellent condition — free of cracks and chips. There is only a very small superficial flake at the pierced ear hole, not affecting the integrity or overall appearance.
The doll is fitted with glass eyes and pierced ears.
The body is original, showing age-related wear typical for dolls of this period. There are signs of an old restoration, which is common for examples of this age; the doll remains stable and suitable for display. The torso features original lacing, a structural element used for internal tension adjustment. There is also an opening at the back from an internal squeaker mechanism, typical for dolls of this period; the mechanism is no longer functioning.
She is fitted with a mohair wig, which complements her overall appearance.
The doll is presented in a carefully styled outfit: a velvet dress in a deep tone enhances the softness of the bisque and the liveliness of her expression. Combined with delicate lace and thoughtful details, the presentation creates a cohesive and visually refined composition.
An atmospheric video and a dedicated musical composition were created especially for this doll and are available on YouTube, allowing the piece to be experienced in motion.
All details and condition aspects are clearly shown in the photographs.
A large and expressive example combining early 20th century aesthetics, fine German craftsmanship, and strong visual presence.

About the Creator / Gallery
Meet Yana Lamar
I am Yana Lamar, a collector and restorer who turned a late‑found curiosity for dolls into a carefully curated gallery of antique characters.
I seek dolls that carry quiet stories — France, German, Japan, American - bisque girls, shy companions from attics and trunks — and give them a second life with gentle restoration instead of perfection.
In this online boutique you will not find mass‑market pieces, only a small rotating collection chosen for their personality, history, and the feeling they bring into a room.
